Optician

Duties and Responsibilities: A Dispensing optician is trained to dispense and fit glasses and any other optical aid. A optician works from the prescriptions written by a optometrists and ophthalmologists. An optician may also give advice to the patient such as, frames, color, and weight. The role requires experience with technical equipment and good customer skills.


Salary: $3,770

Education: High School diploma with on-the-top training or apprenticeship; or certificate, associates degree or bachelor's degree in optician for career advancement.

Reflection: I don't think i would ever want to become a optician. I am more of a independent person so i don't have that much social skills. Even if i developed over the years I'm not good with any styles and i hate glasses because since i have bad eye sight i have to wear them myself. If i could choose i wouldn't want glasses or contacts so why would i put someone else through what i hated.
