Dean Smith was known as a legendary coach. Coach Smith never said "I" he said "We", he always shook the other coaches hand after a game, and never disrespected anyone. Coach Smith was so legendary they names the basketball center after him. He never took any of the credit even when he maybe should have a little. He was a great coach and he made a great team.
This quote shows us how even those he was the coach he was a true team player. Most coaches don't really remember you after you leave but not Coach Smith. Smith keeps in contact at least 1 time a year and not because he has to.
Coach Smith sets an example for all of us and we should learn a lesson. None of us should want greatness, yet we should all strive for greatness. Smith did what he thought was right and that made him legendary. Just imagine what would happen if everyone would do what they think is right. This would would be way more than extraordinary.
Maybe if we were all more like Coach Smith there would be less violence, less crime period. We would all just be humble and pleasant instead of violent and horrifying. Many things can change when you choose the right. It might not always go the way you want it to but it can never go horribly wrong. Unless the thing your trying to correct was horrifyingly wrong.
In Joseph B. Wirthlin's eyes the essence of greatness is kindness. I believe that he believe is is kindness for many reasons. No one that is successful is rude or have no manners. They are all elegant and kind. If they we're rude and obnoxious then they wouldn't be so great. There are many forms of greatness. In my words greatness if another word for being a legend. Take a Super Hero for example. A Super Hero cares for people and puts his life out on the line not because he is cold hearted or forced to but because he is kind and generous.
