This quote shows if you have good characteristic traits then the world would become a better place. Even though that's not possible. I believe in education. A person can always learn to become better if they set their mind to it. The problem with this quote is that not everyone has the chance to have good characteristic traits. Some are born disabled and for that they are mad and take it out on everyone and that's understandable. The world was a beautiful place until we made it ugly. All this technology is making it ugly. No one wants to go outside and plant something or play with a ball. Everyone would rather be stuck on there phone. This is why the economy is crashing and no one knows because they can’t see it. Despit what i’ve said i do believe that people can make there home peaceful. If you have children then you can teach them to be good and loving and marry someone who is the same. You can even live alone. Even then sometimes we don’t get a say. Nowadays it's scary to live alone. Everything is way more violent. As for Technology… There is still way more to go and it's making things easier which is obviously good for the rich but not the rest of us.  Jobs are running out and things like quotes won’t help. The world will become more ugly than we know and it's already started but everyone is so stuck they can’t see. This is all our fault. I completely disagree with this quote.

This quote says a lot. Not only about honor but about self respect and dignity. You can cheat and have no one ever find out about it. Then that also leads to more lies. Lies that you tell yourself and lies that you tell other people. If you avoid lying and cheating all together then if u win you’ll know it's because you deserve it. When you lie and cheat you're not only hurts yourself but those around you as well.

This quote not only shows that good things will pay off eventually but it also shows that you must have a plan for what you want to be doing as well. If you have bad intentions for everything you do, you won’t go far. This quote also shows that if you have goals and you will stop at nothing to complete them then the odds are ever in your favor. Many people (rich people) get things handed to them. They get cars, houses, parties thrown for them all because 1 person in the entire family worked super hard for it. Even sometimes that still might not be the cause. For people like me. People that live in places like South Central or Huntington Park. We earn our money. We earn everything we have in our houses with hard work. We come from everywhere and become as one to do so. Even when the white man tries to bring us down. We still work for people like them. All for reasons. The reasons live with us. We do it for our families, friends, pets, and neighbors. We are a close community and we succeed all together. As a community that is our goal, our goal is to succeed.

This shows that you don’t need to choose the right things for others. If you are choosing the right you do it for yourself. When you do something because you know it's right it doesn't matter what other people think. You know that you're doing good and you know that this is the right thing. For example, let's say i'm playing a volleyball game. The ball is served and it hits the line, but since everyone thought it was out i have two choices. My choices are let them take the fall and get the point or play fair and give them back their ball. I would go with the second choice. Not everyone will agree but it doesn't matter. If we win then we know it's because we are better not because we are cheaters.

I believe Knox is trying to say that doing the right thing is always the right and good thing to do. I believe in this quote because doing the wrong thing can never be good. A person will always end up hurt. Either it's their feelings that get hurt or its them physically. For example, Let's say a friend was hurt because the guy she liked doesn’t like her back. You hate seeing her hurt so you lie and say that he does. What good can come from that lie? Nothing because she's gonna get happy for a while and then she will get hurt even more and embarrassed when she finds out the truth. That situation can go 2 ways. You can lie or you can comfort her and help her get over him. The 2nd choice is obviously better because time heals all wounds. Physical and emotional.

In this quote Alexander says a promise should never be broken. I believe in that. People shouldn’t break promises because when they break a promise they are not only breaking that promise they are losing someone's trust and respect. In life the things that matter most are trust and respect and if you have none for yourself then no one will have that for you. The reason trust and respect is so important is because people need to have faith in another person for everything. For example, if you go in for a job interview and you and this loyal honest person are competing most likely you won't get the job, Especially if you're not a honest and respectable person. Being honest and respectable can help a person in many ways not just in jobs but in relationships to. If your promise your partner anything you must keep that promise because if you don't you show that you're a liar. No one wants to be in a relationship with someone who is rude, unfaithful, unhonest and someone who won’t respect them.

This quote shows that when a person invest in something there are always taking a chance. It’s a chance that they are risking a lot on and they won’t even know the outcome. Investments usually come from or are for companies. When you invest in a company and it succeeded then you get some of the shares. However if that company flops you are left with nothing. You can invest in other things as well. Such as, people, houses or games. The best investment out there though is goodness. When you invest in someone that is good or you invest in something that comes from kindness and is good it never fails. Not once.

Smith tries to says in this quote that things that are bad shouldn’t be popular and things that are good should be. For example, Nowadays people love doing what they think is popular. In modern day society what's popular is unhealthy and unsafe. Teens love smoking and they love drinking and staying out late. All because it is popular and almost all kids do it. What they should be doing is helping their parents out and they should be having good grades and being polite. Nowadays the popular kids think its “wack” or “uncool”. When really all the things they do is eventually gonna catch up to them and make them regret ever doing the things they did.

Another example can be that when you try and follow the cool kids you're not really becoming yourself. You're just becoming another one of them. Lets say im a 14 year old girl about to start high school. If i get invited to a party and they offer me drugs there i have 3 choices. Stay with my friends and refuse. Accept and become one of their new drug buddies. Or i can decline and call a parent to come and take me home. Everyone has a choice. What most High School Students don’t think of is that people in HS think popularity is everything, when really it's nothing. You can be in a sport and become popular. There is no need for making bad choices.

Past President Lincoln was always a kind honest man and he stood up for what he believed in. Nowadays people don’t do that as much. People want to be popular, cool or a rebel. They want to do drugs to escape reality and they want to part the night away because they believe they only live once. People think if you do something that someone else thinks is cool that it's right when in reality it's only wrong. Everyone falls under the spell of society. They won't stand for what they believe in because they have nothing to believe in. People need to understand that there are wrong things and there are right choices. There is no middle. Although now are still people who fight for what they believe in they are slowly dying out. We need more people like Abe because in the future we will officially be under the influence of someone else's mind. Someone who manipulates us and shows us that all these bad choices we make will soon pay off. NEwsflash they won’t they only come to bit u in the butt.

George Chapman reveals that no matter what if people think you're a good person but you know you're not then other people’s opinion don’t matter. For example you can be well know and have a great reputation but that isn't good for anything if secretly you are a horrible person. You can be nice to the people that matter and horrible to the people who seem irrelevant but then in the long run all those bad things you do will catch up to you. People talk and words get around thats why it’s always important to be a nice kind person. That leads to my conclusion. You have no need to worry if your a great person. People won’t talk smack about you and people will want to be around you. That’s what makes a person truly great.

It is correct that many people do cheat. Many think that it's okay if no one knows because they don't think of any repercussions. Some people think if i get away with this then it will be like i actually didn't cheat. Those types of people are not only cheating but lying. To themselves and others. For example, if i am taking a test i didn't study for and i'm panicked i rather take a re-test then copy of the person next to me. The reasons behind that are because what if they get it wrong, what if i get caught, what if their copying off of someone else. The repercussions could be that of expulsion, name calling, detention, suspension, community service etc. Although you can always be honest. Another example is , if you're playing a sport and making so much fouls that aren't called for and get away with it. The ref isn't the only one who see’s what's happening on the field. You might be known for what you did. You also made your team look bad and there are 2 choice you may have. You can go to the ref and fess up or you can win the game and still cheat everyone out for what they worked for.

Cheat

“I won’t cheat.”      -Dale Murphy

This quote says not to cheat but it doesn’t tell you why. If people cheat then they are really not only just lying to you but to themselves. For example, Let's say it was one of my volleyball games. Linda Marquez vs Huntington Park High. The ref might not like us and love Hp but that shouldn’t be a reason for them to call a foul on us. They aren’t allowed to do that because it would be cheating us out. Not only on a victory but all the hard work we put in just to be shut down only by the ref. The reff not liking us can go both ways. It can ruin our chances at winning because he/she decides to cheat or it could be simple. Simple as in the ref does their job and only calls out the foul we deserve. Sadly it does happy and people do cheat.

Another example would be with teachers. A lot of classmates cheat to even though they aren’t supposed to. Sometimes a teacher is so used to you doing wrong she starts blaming you for everything and others use that against you. For example, If someone at my table was talking loud i would be the one in trouble. Not the other person because it would usually be me.

I agree with Murphy when he says those words. Character can be the key to anything. If you are a good smart person you can open so many doors and grab all opportunities. For example, I am a great student. I turn in work ,complete all assignments, participate in class and do what i am told. Because of all that i believe i get more opportunities . I once left my homework at home by accident and i ask my teacher if i could bring it the next day. She replied with yes because she knew i was a honest person who had no reason to lie. If you have good Character that can mean good things for you and you might also have more chances to re-do things as well.

 This quote is showing us that nothing in life is handed to us. The reason nothing is handed to us is because we have to open our own doors. A lot of people do nothing with their life and expect things to just happen for them when in reality that's not how it works. For example, many people who do drugs and have a little talent like singing or rapping think that they will make it big even though all they do is do drugs and rap. People can’t just think that things will get handed to them they have to work for what they want. Another example is any CEO or business owner. They had a idea but ideas are not cheap. They need to still work for the money to build their company/stores up.

This quote is meaning to tell us that money and beauty does not matter when it comes to being a person. Being a good person is not for profit. Being a good person is doing something you don’t have to just to help other people. For example, If i'm walking down the street and a lady drops her wallet of course i'm not gonna keep it. I would return the wallet. Especially since i don’t know the person and i don't know what they are going threw. For all i know she could be suffering from disease or something such as a loss of a loved one.

If you use your beauty, money, or riches to get what u want and try and benifit more then thats choosing the wrong. When you do stuff like that your reputation goes from a good person to a shallow, stingy, selfish. If i was a selfish person i would end up along. When i'm old i don’t want to be alone. I want to be surrounded by my family and people who love me. Not people who wish i was gone because i was such a horrible person. A good heart leads to a happy life. Emotionally and physically.

This quote is showing us that our actions has a domino effect and affects everyone around us. If we choose to do something bad/wrong then that might cause something bad to happen to someone else. Like lets say you get cut off on the freeway and u decide to retaliate by crashing into them. Not only will you hurt the car but u might end up killing them. That person might have family or pets. Then you crash might cause someone else to crash. Or maybe even give a older person a heart attack. Everything in this world is domino effect because what you do affects others.

This quote is meaning to tell us that you can be right if your leave something or someone out. For example, let's say you try and do the right thing. You got in trouble and now its time to come clean, but you only tell that person half of the story. Its wrong to do that because then your not being completely honest. Many people think its okay to do that because they tell themselves " I'm not lying I'm just gonna leave some stuff out." Doing that is basically lying. Not only to the other person but when you lie you lie to yourself as well.

Another example is when you telling the truth but only about the other person and withhold anything that will get you in trouble. At the end the truth will come out es specially for girls. Everyone thinks its okay to lie to girls and not even understand the damage they are doing. Some people lie just to get others in trouble not even to save themselves. Mainly in high school because that's when girls are most vicious. Instead of acting like women and empowering each other we act like little girls and bring each other down.

This quote doesn't have to mean someone will take care of you. This quote is meaning to say that no matter what if you are a good person and do the right things almost nothing can go wrong. Not only will people like you but they will admire you. Although some people might say they don't like goody goodies, you can always kill them with kindness. Sometime's people don't always make the right choices and those choices can hurt others. If you hurt others you maybe won't be liked as much. If you live the right way and do the right thing others will notice. You will be admired. Last but not least people will always be on your side because if they know you , the real you then they know you're a good person. The best thing about being a good person is that you might never have to have confrontation with someone. Although there is always that one person trying to start fight, but since your a good person someone will always help you get out of that situation.

This quote is meaning to tell us that if we are good people not only might we live a long happy life but that its only fair to do so.

For example, lets say your a young adult in college. Many college guys don't act like adults till they need to do something for themselves. Like pay their dues or pay bills of some kind. A lot take there parents for granted and sadly a lot of them almost never grow up. Even after they have kids they might go out every other day. This kind of person used to drink and smoke with his friends because it got them loose and stress free. Now they cant get away from that life. Being a party person is kind of like an addiction for some people. At first its just 1 party, then its tolerance, dependence and finally addiction. Not only does this person hurt themselves and their body but they also hurt there loved ones. Now their kids/girlfriend/wife/parents are worried and since he has already damaged his body from making bad choices he doesn't really care.

Now there is another type of person. A girl. Someone who study's, has 2 jobs to help out her family and pay off college tuition. Now she likes being social but never goes to huge parties because she knows the dangers. This type of person is smart and knows what shes doing. Person A had no clue and became a bad person while person B is getting her life together and deserves all the happiness she gets.

A Choice: Poverty or Prosperity

This statement is showing that it doesn't matter what situation your in, money should never be a problem. A person who is always broke is broke for a reason. Whether its because they don't have a job or they always spend there money. Maybe its because they are a single parent and have to feed and bath their children. What ever case it is you don't need to live in poverty. You can get another job maybe one that pays better.Get your GED or go back to college and make more money. There is always a choice and there is always another way around poverty. Especially if you want you kids to be happy and have everything they want in life. For example, people don't just wind up living in poverty. There is a chain of events that lead them up to where they are. Although, you can always break out of poverty with the right choices. All you need to be willing to do is put in some hard work.
