Veterans
Day is a public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War 1
(November 11) to honor all US veterans and victims of all wars. Veterans Day
was not always known for what it is today. Veterans Day was formally known as
Armistice Day. The reason we need to
show honor is because celebrate it is because we need to show the gratitude for
the people who risked and lost their lives for the US. Veterans Day is on
November 11 every year since 1918. A few Ways to Show Honor And Respect is by
helping out our US Veterans. For Example there are many programs for the
citizens to send letters or even blank greeting cards to veterans all so they
can send it to their loved ones. You can
also donate weather it’s your time or its money. You can donate money to help
out with medical care or animal care because the military dogs play a huge role
for our US Veterans.
Another important thing about Veterans day is for the family members who supported the ones who left out to fight. Some didn’t come back and some did . We must be Thankful for those who did.
Reflection: I truly believe that Veterans Day is a Wonderful and Beautiful day. We don't live in a Beautiful world but someone who is willing to give there life and put there life are risk because the believe they can make it beautiful is truly inspiring. Not to mention the fact that many people want to join the armed forces but either can't because they have to much responsibility, or they are flat foot, or maybe just to scared. This is the reason everyone believes that our soldiers are brave. We never give up we only continue fighting. All in hopes that America can one day be great again. I think the best part about having a family member or friend in the army is the welcome home. All the tears a joy to finally see your loved one. But keep in mind there will always be the worry that they might never come back. Veterans day is also for the family members who got the hand written letter delivered right in their hands.
